Clay County High School, founded in 1971, is affiliated with the Clay County Schools, a K-12 school with more than five schools. It enrolls more than 600 students in grades nine through 12. Its curriculum includes English, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, art, music, computer studies and physical education. It has a parent-teacher association that involves parents in various educational activities of the school. It provides various sports activities, such as volleyball, football, tennis, track and field, cross-country, basketball, soccer and softball. The school is accredited by the West Virginia State Department of Education. Located in Clay, W.Va., it also has a library and cafeteria.
