Hi, my name is Jean Jenkins. I'm partners with my daughter-in-law, Kate Jenkins. We opened Cedar Run Pet Resort together in June 2006 for several reasons. I work part-time at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. As part of my work as a PhD prepared nurse I travel quite a bit. I have two golden retrievers and I was worried about leaving them with just anyone. Kate loves animals and we talked about how we might turn that love into something that would be good for both of us. Voila, Cedar Run! Now Trace and Alye receive wonderful care while I am away, I don't worry at all, and they look beautiful when I get back! I also have two beautiful granddaughters. I hope that because their mom is successful at doing something she enjoys, they will benefit. Sometimes they get to go with their mom to the kennel and help out. It really is a family run business! My son, Jeremy, is very supportive of both his mom and wife in this new business venture, although he says he hasn't seen as much of either of us as he use toThank goodness he was there to not only help us select the carpet, flooring, computers, and equipment for the kennel, but also to make sure everything was installed and working right. The kennel is not only safe but looks good because of his efforts. Starting a new business is a challenge, making sure people know we exist and that we're worth visiting. When you have someone as dedicated as Kate and the rest of our staff making sure that your animals have the best care possible, I can assure you that you'll not only be pleased if you visit us once, but you and your critters will keep coming back! We guarantee you we'll treat them just like part of our family too. Jeanne & Kate
