The Washington State University Extension Energy Program is a self-supported department that provides energy services and products. It receives project funding from federal government and power marketing agencies and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. The department s customers include industrial plants, private consulting firms, businesses, government agencies and utilities. The Washington State University Extension Energy Program operates an applied building science team that conducts programs for code officials, construction and manufactured housing industries, public sector facility staff and homeowners. It employs a resource efficiency manager who supports the energy and resource efficiency program that focuses to bring reductions in the cost of energy, water, natural gas, fuel oil and refuse disposal. The department additionally offers technical support, plant assessments and training sessions related to energy efficiency improvement at industrial facilities. The Washington State University Extension Energy Program is located in Olympia, Wash.
