John Jacobi established Windermere Real Estate Services in 1972, with the purchase of an eight-agent office in the Seattle neighborhood of Windermere. The company has grown exponentially each year since, setting a benchmark for the practice of real estate in the United States. Windermere pioneered its aggressive commission structure, offers agent benefits and was one of the first realtors to have a searchable database of homes on its Web site. The company has grown to become one of the leading real estate companies in the Western United States. The network now has more than 200 offices serving communities in Arizona, British Columbia, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Windermere Real Estate Services has a location, Windermere Services Company, in Seattle.
