Whatcom County Fire District #17, located in Ferndale, WA, proudly serves the residents of Sandy Point Shores, Sandy Point Heights, Neptune Heights, Neptune Beach, and western portions of the Lummi Indian Reservation. With a team of twenty highly trained and dedicated men and women, they operate seven pieces of apparatus from two stations, including licensed transport ambulances and a Fire Rescue boat.
As of January 1st, 2020, the fire district no longer permits yard and beach debris fires, but recreational camp and beach fires consisting of charcoal or split dry firewood in an approved enclosure are still allowed.
