Washington Fruit & Produce is a grower, packer and shipper of premium apples, pears and cherries from Washington and Oregon. It has shipped its fruit throughout North America and the world since 1916. Washington Fruit was incorporated in 1916 by Fred B. Plath to grow, pack and ship apples, pears and peaches from the Yakima Valley. In the 1950s, the company started growing cherries for fresh packing. By the early 1970s, it decided to remove the peach acreage to focus its energies on apples, pears and cherries only. The company is still family-owned and operated. It farms apples, pears, cherries and wine grapes throughout eastern Washington while its packing operations have always been based in Yakima, Wash.
