History
Urban Music Farm (UMF) began as a simple idea amongst friends who shared a common desire to learn, play and perform music in a fun and recreational environment with social connection, personal growth, and community building representing the core focus. Today the UMF mission is to foster and build community between adult recreational musicians who are passionate about making music without the constraints, pressures, or judgment of the professional music scene. UMF shifts the playing experience from the living room to the band room and believes that the best music is the music we can make together. We operate as an organization for avid recreational musicians and vocalists who want to explore, play and perform various musical genres including rock, blues, funk, pop, country, and reggae (with new styles being added as the community and its interests grow). Our programs provide short-term playing commitments and long-term community for the practiced musician to apply their existing skill
Specialties
Maybe you were previously in a band but put it on the backburner as life's demands became greater. Perhaps you've always wanted to see what it's like to play in a musical group but don't have the time to commit to being in a full-time band. If you're a recreational musician who wants to leave the living room playing experience behind, come join our community of musicians in a focused and facilitated environment.
