The Samaritan Project, under the umbrella organization Plateau Outreach Ministries, is run by staff and volunteers who help provide emergency help for those in need of funds to pay for rent, emergency shelter, power and utilities or medicine. The Project is also able to provide referrals for counseling.
The organization logs more than 8,000 volunteer hours each year and has been an important presence in Enumclaw for the last decade. A combination of donations from private citizens, churches, local agencies and assistance from the city of Enumclaw helps sustain the Samaritan Project, which serves residents in Enumclaw as well as the surrounding communities.
