Church of the Holy Cross is an Episcopal church near the Redmond/Kirkland city line. The Episcopal church is the American version of the British Anglican church, separated after the Revolutionary War. It follows Protestant independent values and Catholic tradition and organization, and is best known for celebrating gay marriage ceremonies and allowing homosexual church leaders.
Church of The Holy Cross was founded in the mid-1950's and still maintains a wide range of missions and activities for its small parish. The education building houses Best Beginnings day care, which accepts non-parish students. Next to the main entrance to the fellowship hall, is a fence-enclosed play area for children set among the natural evergreens and an ornate gate leading to a meditation trail.
Rector Jim Eichner has been leading the Church of the Holy Cross since 2002. He welcomes all new members to his services.
