Stevens Pass Ski Area is a ski resort located on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie and Wenatchee National forests in Washington and operated under a permit granted by the USDA Forest Service. Located in the Cascade Mountain Range, Stevens has 37 major runs on more than 1,125 acres of skiable terrain. It also offers restaurants, bars, coffee stands and rental and retail stores in the lodges to serve the thousands of visitors a year. Harvard Investments took control of Stevens after its original investors retired in 1976. New lodges were added in 1978 and in 1988. It has also installed high-speed quad-chair lifts, specialty runs and other amenities. Features on the mountains include a half-pipe, jumps and specialty runs for snowboarding and twin-tipped skiing.
