In 1935, in the midst of the Depression, Frank Shields took a chance on a dream, opening a small print shop named Shields Bag and Printing Company. Working with his sons, he built a successful commercial printing business before branching into flexible packaging in the mid-1950s. As a custom-blown film extruder, the company extrudes, prints and converts film for use in a range of industries. Shields manufactures more than 100 lines of flexible packaging products and ship its products to all seven continents. It incorporates the latest technological advances to its manufacturing processes enabling the company to produce high-performance films, versatile converted products and enhanced graphics with full-color process printing. Shields Bag and Printing Company is located in Yakima, Wash.
