Founded in 1968 and located in Ashford, Wash., Rainier Mountaineering provides a guide service for climbing mountains and trains individuals in the required skills for climbing. The organization is one of the largest guiding services in the United States offering climbs throughout the world. It also offers a program including classes and seminars to teach about the snow and ice climbing techniques. Rainier Mountaineering guides have led more than 300 expeditions on all continents and over 30 of them at the top of Mount Everest. The organization employs professional guides who are trained in mountain safety and education. Its guides lead a variety of expeditions on Mount McKinley peak and Mount Rainier peak, which is a glaciated volcanic peak. Rainier Mountaineering follows various safety techniques against avalanche, ice and rock falls, crevasse fall, inclement weather and storms. It provides all kinds of equipment, climbing schedules and reservation-related information to people.
