Oakbrook Elementary School is located on 83rd Ave. Southwest and provides educational services to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school is part of the Clover Park School District, which caters to the city of Lakewood and Joint Base Lewis McChord. The teachers, students and community at Oakbrook are encouraged to participate in making Oakbrook a student-centered learning environment. Oakbrook Elementary School's mission statement is "to educate the whole child. We believe that all children can excel at academics, and that activities and citizenship are just as important. Our students know that we have high expectations for them, and they strive to meet them. We welcome involvement from parents and the community. " Test Scores for 2009-2010 in the state assessment test MSP third grade were 77 percent for reading and 51 percent for math (percentages are of students meeting or exceeding state standards).
