The Moses Lake Police Department maintains social order and peace, as well as provides law enforcement services. It has an honor guard that marches in parades, conducts funerals for officers and their family members, and attends wakes and funerals for area officers killed in the line of duty. The department maintains a patrol division that is responsible for handling a variety of calls for service and enforcing state and municipal criminal and traffic laws. It also operates an investigative division that is responsible for the investigation of major crimes and provides support to the patrol division.
