Walk into Mi Mexico and no matter what your mood was, it will be just a little brighter. The decor is nothing short of eye popping. The carved and painted chairs are charming, and cheerful. The dining room is comfortable, there are booths as well as tables.
The menu is extensive, with seafood, pork and beef dishes. Owner Angel recommends the Carne Asada, or the Camarones Borrachos, otherwise known as Drunken Shrimp. But those are only two of many choices. There are salads like the Ensalada Costa Alegre, composed of grilled shrimp, avocado, mango, tomatoes, onions, two kinds of lettuce, spinach and topped with a mango citrus vinegar dressing. Then there are the many burritos and enchiladas selections; Mole Enchiladas with a sauce of peanut butter and chocolate is a delicious choice.
Check out the healthy and vegetarian options as well. Try the vegetarian burrito with cheese, beans and rice topped with tomatoes, quacamole and sour cream. There is a selection of American-style burgers and sandwiches too.
The daily lunch special menu has 14 choices, all priced at $7.99. Mi Mexico has a full bar, and has a happy hour from 2pm to 5pm Monday through Friday.
