Jennifer has provided services for nearly 400 qualified plans and is unique in the retirement plan industry since she has hands-on experience in both the financial markets and retirement plan compliance administration. She began her career at SAFECO Mutual Funds on October 19, 1987, which later became know as "Black Monday" due to the severe market correction on that same day. She was later promoted to SAFECO Life as a Pension Analyst and became a specialist in technically difficult plans and plans requiring special customer service attention. She has lectured frequently at training seminars on qualified plan issues and providing exceptional customer service. Jennifer earned her MBA with a concentration in Finance at Seattle University and is a Certified Pension Consultant, a designation from the American Society of Pension Actuaries. She is the Chairperson for the Compensation and benefit Special Interest Group of the Seattle Chapter of the National Human Resource Management Association. She was previously a member of the American Society of Women accountants and a past Chairperson of the Albers Graduate Alumni Board at Seattle University. McWethy Pension Services frequently sponsors continuing education seminars for clients and friends. The Certified Pension Consultant designation is awarded by the American Society of Pension Actuaries ( ASPA ) to benefits professionals employed in the fields of plan administration, pension actuarial administration, insurance and financial planning. CPCs work with employers to formulate, implement, administer, and maintain qualified retirement plans and other employee benefits programs. An individual who has at least three years of experience in pension-related matters and demonstrates competence in various aspects of pension and related employee benefits consulting through completion of the prescribed examination series may apply to the ASPA board of directors for the CPC designation. Certified members of ASPA prescribe to honorable professional practices and must complete regular on-going continuing education to maintain professional designations.
