The Election Department is managed by Mason County in Washington, which governs community development, emergency management, parks and trails departments. The department administers up to six federal, state and local elections annually. It also registers new voters and maintains existing voter registration records. The Election Department manages candidate filing, as well as publishes an online voters' guide for each election. In addition, the department provides customer services to the public. It maintains a database of more than 32,700 active registered voters. The department offers a disability access voting equipment, the eSlate Electronic Voting System, which features tactile input switches and headphones.
