The Lions 4 Kids House offers clothing, shoes, school supplies and toiletries to children in need. Lions 4 Kids helps keep schoolchildren confident by providing them with essentials like clean hair, clothes and shoes. This house has been converted into a well-organized shopping center, with clothing organized by gender, size, age range, color and type. There are two separate dressing rooms for boys and girls.
There is a drop box for donations located to the left of the building. Volunteers sift through the clothes and choose only gently-used and almost new clothing to add to the racks. The items they cannot put on the floor are left in the backyard for anyone to take. Children must be referred to the Lions 4 Kids House by their school, the food bank or a family center.
On their first visit, the child can pick out clothing, shoes, socks and underwear, personal care items and school supplies, plus books, videos and toys. They can visit the store once a month after that and receive a haircut.
Lions 4 Kids was founded in 2006 and is sponsored by the Bonney Lake Lions Club. They have expanded to serving surrounding communities, like Sumner, Dieringer, Orting, Carbonado and White River, in addition to the countless families in the area that have found themselves homeless. They serve hundreds of children every year.
