History
In 2002, several slightly twisted families who had outgrown their garage haunts were approached by Kitsap County about cooperating on a haunt event. From 2003 to 2012, the Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds was the product of a partnership between local volunteers and Kitsap County Parks and Recreation. During this timeframe, haunt event proceeds were used to make significant improvements to fairgrounds facilities. These included sprinkler/fire alarm systems for both the sheep barn and cat barn, and a new roof and cement floor for the sheep barn. In 2013 the haunt group formed a non-profit company, Kitsap Haunted Productions, to promote and produce the annual event. Kitsap Haunted Productions is excited about the future, with the intention of growing the event every year! Design, build, staffing, and teardown is a 100% volunteer effort, and all proceeds generated go back to the community and improving the event.
