Jack Straw Cultural Center is a non-profit multidisciplinary audio arts center located in Seattle, WA. Since 1962, they have been a community-based resource, providing a unique production facility for local artists who work creatively with sound. Through their Artist Support Program, New Media Gallery Program, and Writers Program, they offer residencies to over thirty artists annually, allowing them to create new work in their state-of-the-art studios.
With a commitment to art and technology education for all ages, Jack Straw also offers a wide range of classroom and in-studio learning programs for children from elementary through high school, as well as professional audio workshops and internships for adults. Their mission is to keep art, culture, and heritage vital through sound, and they achieve this by providing opportunities for artists to explore the creative use of sound and by offering educational programs that inspire and engage the community.
