Eastlake Senior High School, which enrolls students in grades 10 to 12, is one of three high schools on the Sammamish Plateau. It has served residents since it opened in 1993 and is part of the Lake Washington School District.
Students learn from a core group of teachers, who coordinate lessons in math, history, science and English. The school also has Advanced Placement, Honors and Running Start programs. Running Start lets high school students take college classes.
In 2009, the student body was made up of 732 males and 617 females. The school's 76 teachers have an average of more than 11 years of experience. Nearly 70 percent of the teachers have received their master's degree. Wolves are the school's mascot.
Eastlake's feeder schools are: Inglewood Jr. High School and Evergreen Jr. High School (Redmond). Students from the following elementary schools also are in the Eastlake attendance area: Louisa May Alcott (Redmond), Elizabeth Blackwell, Rachel Carson, Margaret Mead, Christa McAuliffe and Samantha Smith.
