History
Coastal Marine Engine was founded in 1984. Then, as now, it is adjacent to the Seattle Ship Canal in the Ballard community, the heart of Seattle's commercial and pleasure boat marine industries. There have been many milestones along the way. In 1994 Coastal Marine Engine was named Power Center for the gasoline inboard/outboard line and in 1999 it was appointed the Volvo Penta Power Center for diesel engines. In 2003, we acquired Coastal's on-site neighbor, Canal Boatyard, and Coastal Marine suddenly had a sister company that immediately added in-house haulout and storage for boat owners requiring hull or interior work, and all forms of electroinic repair and installations.
