Established in 1972, Clark County Genealogical Society is a nonprofit corporation with more than 700 members proving literature and materials relating to the field of genealogy. Its members have written and published more than 100 books that are available for other researchers. The society also offers online listings of marriage, cemetery and other books, and operates a genealogical library with large study areas and plug-in facilities for personal computers. The library also features microfiche and film readers and computers for public use, 32-megabyte minidrives for transporting information between computers, a bar code scanner, Norton AntiVirus programs and updating subscriptions for its computers, and the Readerware program for cataloging its books.
