Established in 1954, Clark County Washington Fire District 6 provides round-the-clock fire protection in the form of three-person engine crews at each of its three stations. An additional crew of at least two persons responds on rescue apparatus. Augmented by a volunteer force, and led by at least one chief officer, the fire department can field more than eight engines, aerial-ladder apparatus, air-supply, rescue and brush fire units, command vehicles, and boats. Its firefighters and officers are trained to Washington State Emergency Medical Technician certification. Clark County Washington Fire District 6 also provides fire safety and public health education programs, including child safety classes, fire extinguisher, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, disaster preparation and juvenile fire setter programs, and outdoor burning information.
