Room Nine offers a thematic, multi-age education in a K-8 setting that focuses on social and emotional skill building. The school is designed to serve students who fit into the gifted or special education categories. Students may approach a theme, such as water, from a variety of disciplines including science, math, art and writing.
The school focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts, Mathematics (STEAM) Program for grades 6-8.
The school has 130 students and is public, but is supplemented by donations by the families of children who go there. Families are also required to do 10 hours of community service a month.
