Free People
The Free People boutique is an offshoot of Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie (another female-only clothing store), a vintage-style, detail-oriented clothing store that caters to free-spirited women. Created in the late 1970s in Philadelphia as a hole-in-the-wall exchange flea market-type shop, Free People re-invented itself in 1984, designing clothes for Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. Now, as its own entity, Free People utilizes its own design team that handcrafts its clothing and jewelry. The quality that most sets Free People apart from many other clothing stores is the attention to detail. The garments often utilize multiple fabrics and different buttons all the way up. The clothing style really resembles the 70s era from which it was born.
