History
Often, we wait too long before seeking help with our troubles, believing we should be able to sort out problems on our own. While I understand this tendency, each day we struggle with unresolved problems creates a great deal of anxiety that only makes it more difficult to work towards effective solutions. Sometimes, the strengths, skills, and resources that we have used successfully to create change in the past are now insufficient to resolve current issues. Often, developing a new skill set along with a new perspective can quickly move us forward toward greater understanding and connection.
Specialties
I am a therapist by training with a master's degree in marriage and family therapy. In some form or another, most people come to therapy wanting help with their relationships. Frequently though, therapy is not what is needed and for many individuals and couples this approach simply does not feel like the right fit. In my experience, a great deal of difficulty is created and sustained by poor communication. Often, it is compounded by a lack of clarity about what is driving unproductive and unsatisfying interactions. When problems are met with new understanding and communication is clear and respectful, resolution and connections come into focus. Sessions are held online via a HIPPA compliant platform.
