History
I had been DJing for friends and family over the years. About 10 years ago my church came to me and asked if I would start DJing the youth dances and I gladly said yes. Because it is a church I needed to decide which songs were appropriate to play and which were not and that involved downloading and reading lyrics and then catagorizing the results for future refrence. After doing all this work I decided to see if I there was a market for a DJ that had the ability to, when requested, play songs that were more family friendly. TADAH! Here I am! I can play any song by any artist like any other DJ. However, if it is inappropriate for songs to be played that are laden with profanity (like at a church function, corporate event, wedding, etc.) but you still want what is new and hot and playing on the radio, I am the person to call.
Specialties
Unlike many DJs I specialize in playing appropriate music for the event. If it is a wedding I don't play songs about cheating, breaking up, etc. I can keep it as 'clean' as you want. My DJ program allows me to sort songs by much more than just genre, date, etc. I can also sort by offensive lyrics, profanity, etc. I love to take requests from the crowd. I don't have a predetermined playlist that I play every time. I play songs based upon what my employer has told me and by requests. I don't 'scratch' meaning I play the songs the way they were originally recorded without altering it in any way. I believe people want to dance to music they recognize and the way they remember hearing it on the radio. I do this for fun and I believe it comes across at every gig I do.
