Hinesburg is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. The town was named for Abel Hine, town clerk. The population was 4,340 at the 2000 census.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.90% White, 0.14% African American, 0.21% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 1.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.78% of the population.
