History
Founded in 1948 by Italian immigrant Victor Magistrelli. Wharton began in a converted one-room schoolhouse in Pennsauken, NJ, and was named after the street on which it was located. Since then, the business has been passed down to Victor's son, Aldo Magistrelli, and has branched out to include contractors' equipment rental and concrete forming, the latter of which has become a staple of Wharton's business. To this day, Aldo still manages the company, along with his three sons, Victor, AJ, and Chuck, and his son-in-law, Carl. In 1983, Wharton opened a second store in Springfield, VA, and in 2002 a new concrete forming division was opened across the river in Clinton, MD. Finally, in 2018, our Clinton division opened its own retail store and showroom.
