Hidden gem. We were staying at a nearby resort with multiple Pricey restaurants. None of which compared to the quality of food at Waterwheel. Highly recommend for food, staff and ambiance.

Osceola Mill Country Inn

HistoryThe Osceola Mill is the largest of seven mills that were constructed along Marl Creek during the 1800s. Only two remain today, the McCormick Farm Mill on the upper end of the creek and the Osceola Mill on the lower section. Originally constructed in 1849, the mill existed as a functional flour mill for 120 years. Much of the mill's original structure is still intact today supported by massive hand-hewn chestnut beams. The mill operated as a working flour mill well into the 1900s, producing stone-ground goods for the local community. In 1969, however, Hurricane Camille and the resulting flood ended the its long standing history as a functional mill. Upon its retirement, the mill was renovated into a country inn offering rustic rooms for rent and hearty homemade meals. Hosting travelers from all over for 50+ years, the mill has offered both locals and visitors a quaint window to the history of the Shenandoah Valley and a timeless getaway tucked away in the rural Virginia countryside.SpecialtiesA historic 1800s water-powered flour mill converted into a rustic bed & breakfast, restaurant and event venue.
