Virginia Run Elementary School is a learning center that is governed by Fairfax County Public Schools, which serves more than 164,800 students through various elementary, middle and high schools, as well as alternative and special education centers. Established in 1989, the school educates over 800 students in kindergarten through grade six. It provides English for Speakers of Other Languages, special education and reading recovery programs. Virginia Run Elementary School offers enrichment programs, such as Odyssey of the Mind. The school supports a range of extracurricular activities, including art, band, strings, music and physical education classes. Its staff includes learning support aides, instructional assistants, technology specialists, social workers, and physical and occupational therapists.
