History
TREATS Pet Care began after Owner and President, Susan Howell, was laid off from an Advertising Sales Executive position with a national publisher in Virginia. She took some time to think about what she wanted to do, consider and evaluate skills, and came up with Pet Sitting at the end of that process. Susan, an Advertising and Marketing Specialist, researched the market and ways to become a professional pet sitter. She created a simple website, that later, Carolyn Burke, Web Master, tweaked and improved. Business license, insurance, bonding, and training were all next. She is a member of PSI and NAPPS. Since 2007, Susan has taken coursework and has become a Certified Veterinary Assistant, Pet Nurse, & PSI Accredited Pet Sitter. She continues her education hands on in animal care. In future, she hopes to complete certifications in Pet Grooming, and Pet Chaplaincy to assist with needs she has identified in the community. She is current and up to date on First Aid Certification
