Locally owned and community-supported school of yoga in Northern Virginia since 1994, Sun & Moon connects minds to bodies, yoga to wellness, and people to each other. We teach students movement, mindfulness, and therapeutic techniques, all part of the rich tradition of hatha yoga. Our style is quiet, deliberate, accessible, and therapeutic, with lots of room to explore, play, inquire, and heal.
Specialties
We specialize in careful instruction and a balanced approach to classical yoga through the body, the mind, and the breath. Our classes are centered around actually teaching how to do this practice, and why it's valuable to the health and well-being of all. We don't heat our rooms or simply call out the names of poses in quick succession -- instead of creating a gym atmosphere, we create a peaceful and balanced atmosphere of quiet contemplation and deep, focused work.
