St. John's Episcopal Church has a long history in the Centreville area. The parish was founded in 1746 in a small chapel off of Braddock Road, and moved to its current site in the 1850s. During the Civil War, it was used as an encampment by Confederate troops. Today, it is a lively, active parish and home to Ad Fontes Academy's lower school, a private, classical Christian school for grades K-5.
