Founded in 1970, the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board provides mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse and early intervention services to the residents of the Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties in Virginia. It operates more than five outpatient clinics that offer case management, specialized counseling, psychological assessment, crisis intervention and medication management services. The board s clinics also offer individual, group and family therapy services. The Rappahannock Area Community Services Board additionally operates over 10 mental retardation group homes that provide 24-hour intensive and structured support. Its infant development program offers physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as special education to infants and toddlers with developmental delays. The Rappahannock Area Community Services Board also offers recreational activities and health education programs and is located in Fredericksburg, Va.
