Old Dominion University, located in Norfolk, Va., is an institution that offers educational and extracurricular activities to its students. The university is spread on more than 180 acres. It was founded in 1930 as a division of the College of William and Mary. It currently is one of the few public universities with a Carnegie/Doctoral Research-Extensive distinction. The university has an enrollment of more than 20,000 students in six colleges in its undergraduate and graduate courses. It has a full-time faculty of more than 550 and a part-time faculty of more than 250. It has a student-to-faculty ratio of 16-to-1. The university offers more than 65 bachelor s degrees, over 60 master s degrees, and more than 30 doctoral degrees. In addition, it offers educational specialist degrees.
