History
New Covenant Church (NCC) started in 1958 as a small group meeting in the home of Tom and Nancy Jones, our founding pastor and his wife. The church name started as the New Testament Congregation. In late 1962, Tom and his wife found and purchased a small Methodist church building on Harpersville Road in Newport News, VA for meetings. The church name was changed to New Covenant Church. NCC continued to grow as the Bible was taught, people cared for each other, and on occasion miracles occurred. In 1969, the property at our current location was purchased and in 1971, construction began on the property. In 1973, we moved in and at the second meeting, the building was filled to capacity. Since that time, NCC has had several pastors, added a Family Life Center with a kitchen and gym, a Youth Center, and in 2018, a dining hall called the Belong Center - a place for our community to come together, build relationships, and grow together.
