John Vigliotta started harvesting clams on the Great South Bay of Long Island in 1970. In 1978 he started Moriches Bay Shellfish, a company operating out of Moriches Bay on Long Island and serving the Philadelphia and Greater New Jersey areas. In 1987 his interest in aquaculture and the growing of clams and oysters caused him, along with his family to move to Gloucester Virginia. There he worked for Ward Oyster Co, and in 1989 became a part owner of the company. In 1991 he took over full ownership. In 1995 he started a sister company, Mobjack Bay Seafood, Inc to facilitate the sales and distribution of Ward Oyster Co products as well as purchasing and marketing clams and oysters all along the East Coast. Mobjack Bay Seafood, Inc is now a successful and expanding seafood business. Please look through our website to learn more .
