In 1947, Ted Lansing, J.C. Dike Griffith, and James C. Mac McLane, formed a partnership trading as Ted Lansing Supply Company. Dike Griffith took care of the office while Mac McLane handled the physical warehouse operations. Ted Lansing was involved in selling, and as President, the overall management of the company. The partnership was changed to a corporation in 1957. The new company name was changed to Lansing Building Products. Expansion started in 1967 with the opening of a location in Norfolk, Va. It continued with the opening of facilities in Roanoke, Va., in 1969, Newport News, Va., in 1972, Raleigh, N.C., in 1974. The company provides siding, windows, gutters, decking, vinyl railing, tools, doors, skylights and roofing materials.
