Danville Division of Social Services is a part of The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) that provides assistance to citizens of Virginia. Based in Danville, Va., it provides both financial and social work services to eligible children and adults who are residents of the City of Danville. The areas of services include administration and benefit programs. The Virginia Department of Social Services fosters community collaboration by providing services and sponsoring various grants, funds, programs and initiatives. It receives grants and funds from Community Service Block Grant Program (CSBG), Family and Children's Trust Fund (FACT), Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF). Some of its programs and initiatives include Council on the Status of Women, Faith-Based and Community Initiative (FBCI) and Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).
