The first bank created by Worth Harris Carter, Jr. was an office of the First National Bank of Rocky Mount, opened in 1974. Then, in 2006 it was merged with nine other banks in Virginia and North Carolina, and Carter Bank & Trust was created. Since then, it has been providing consumer services with lower interest rates on loans and lower service charges. The Sudley Road Office offers a variety of bank services, including lifetime free checking, commercial checking accounts, interest checking accounts, money market accounts, Passbook savings accounts, Christmas Club accounts, daily compounding of interest on all certificates of deposit and savings accounts, competitive loan and deposit rates, and no minimum loan amounts. It is also equipped with drive-in services, Monday through Saturday.
