Lacey C. Hughes is a native Mississippian. His professional career began in 1983 after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and a commission as an Army Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. Laceys career highlights consist of three company- level command tours, four tours in the Pentagon; serving on both the Army Staff and the Joint Staff; a tour as Chief of the Army Operation Center, and a central selection as a battalion-level commander. The most defining experience of his career was serving during the recovery of soldiers and crewmembers of a crashed military-chartered aircraft returning from peacekeeping duty in the Sinai. His most demanding assignment was serving two years as Aide-de-Camp for a general officer. The most personally rewarding assignment was serving a platoon leader, and company commanderespecially in the second Armored Cavalry Regiment. He retired from uniformed service after twenty-two and a half years. He continues to serve as a Department of the Army Civilian serving as a senior logistics specialist integrating the lifecycle acquisition of two portfolios of defensive weapon systems. Lacey graduated from Howard University, School of Divinity in 2018 after acknowledging Gods call upon his lifeIt is hard to run from the Hound of Heaven! He has served as a Hospital Chaplain, under the supervision of a Benedictine Monk at Providence Hospital in Washington DC, and served as a Hospital Chaplain at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Woodbridge, VA.
