Inqbation
HistoryWe identified a need among Los Angeles based small business startups to provide business consulting, affordable websites, and digital marketing services. So, we named ourselves inQbation to reflect that our purpose was to help incubate startups and get them bootstrapped. We leveraged open source software (Wordpress, Drupal) to save on costs. As 2008 rolled around we noticed two things: 1) Senator Obama was destined for the White House and would likely invest money in government websites and 2) the economy in California was slipping fast. So, we decided to move from California to Washington DC to get as close to The White House as possible and serve government. By 2010, we were sitting in the Executive Office of the President working directly with The White House CIO and New Media team, designing websites such as Data.gov, USAspending.gov, RestoreTheGulf.gov. By 2012, government spending slowed down as the deficit rose, and we shifted our focus to serving nonprofit organizations.SpecialtiesinQbation is a Washington DC area web design and development agency with expertise in content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, Joomla), social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), mobile applications, section 508 compliance (accessibility), e-government solutions, e-democracy, content strategy, and content development. We have a research and development (R&D) lab that operates as an internal incubator and accelerator of web, mobile, and social technologies.
