Vermont Public Radio was founded in 1977 as an independent community radio station. The station broadcasts in hybrid digital sound. It is one of the most listened public radio stations in the United States. The station serves residents of Vermont and other neighboring states, as well as Quebec, Canada. Vermont Public Radio offers news, information programs and public radio entertainment favorites. Its service, called VPR Classical, provides classical music throughout the day.
