History
This nonprofit organization was founded in 1972 to educate for sustainability. In 1986 it was bequeathed the land and buildings of the original estate of Shelburne Farms (1886). Today, the nonprofit owns and operates a 1,400-acre working farm and National Historic Landmark for the purpose of education, and welcomes visitors to enjoy the property.
