My patients and I work as a team to manage their diabetes. I listen to my patients’ concerns and give them the tools that they need to manage their diabetes well. I educate my patients about diabetes so they can better understand their condition. Family members can also be an essential part of the diabetes team by supporting healthy habits at home, such as healthy exercise and food choices. Managing diabetes isn’t only about getting a low Hemoglobin A1c or more blood sugars in Time in Range. While these are good goals, it is just as important for people with diabetes to live a full life and not feel that their diabetes is a huge burden to them. There are a lot of exciting new technologies and devices that help make diabetes care easier. My goal is to create a treatment plan for each patient that reflects their individual needs and helps them avoid the complications of diabetes. Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects every aspect of patients’ lives. I want to give people with diabetes a message of hope about their future. Together we can make positive changes!
