The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, also known as USSA, offers opportunities for athletes in the Olympic action sports. Its programs provide education, development and competition opportunities for young athletes in national teams and the Olympic Winter Games. The association is the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association operates the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding. It provides athletic programs in various sports including, alpine skiing, cross-country and freestyle. The association s programs are implemented through a network of nearly 400 USSA Clubs. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has more than 29,000 members, including over 22,000 athletes and nearly 50,000 fans. It provides education and support to local coaches, officials, parents and volunteers. The association sanctions more than 4,100 events every year. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association s education program uses on-snow clinics, classroom and online courses to deliver and test over 600 coaches annually.
