The Clinton Police Department prevents, detects and investigates criminal activities, and maintains peace and order through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It is comprised of 11 full-time sworn officers. The department has an emergency dispatch center that answers police, fire and medical calls. The Clinton Police Department employs a community policing officer who conducts neighborhood watch and citizens on patrol programs, as well as hosts the McGruff Program. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an educational classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The department also assists the victims of domestic violence.
