Kern River Gas Transmission Company is a subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, which generates, transmits and distributes energy from diversified fuel sources, including geothermal, natural gas, hydroelectric, nuclear, coal and wind. Its subsidiaries include MidAmerican Energy Company, PacifiCorp, CE Electric UK, CalEnergy Generation, Kern River Gas Transmission Company and Northern Natural Gas. The company s subsidiaries own and operate geothermal energy plants in California and in the Philippines, producing a combined capacity of more than 700 megawatts of electricity from naturally occurring geothermal heat. It also owns and operates the Casecnan Multipurpose Irrigation and Power Project in the Philippines, which generates more than 100 megawatts of hydroelectric power. The company has a 50 percent interest in the 10-megawatt Wailuku hydroelectric facility in Hawaii. MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company is based in Des Moines, Iowa. Kern River Gas Transmission Company maintains a location in Salt Lake City.
